How to make a quick and delicious Green Smoothie

How to make a quick and delicious Green Smoothie

A quick and delicious Green Smoothie?  Oh yes!

I love green smoothies and I have one every single morning.  I make a big batch for my  family and this way I know that we all get a dose of greens for the day!

Green smoothies are so good for you and my kids find it easy to make and fun to drink.  Yes, get the kids like to make their own concoctions!  It’s great!

As long as you don’t get hung up on using a specific recipe, you will have a lot of fun with this. I buy frozen pineapple to make this even quicker and easier.  I also buy a bunch of ripe bananas, peel them and put them all in the freezer.  You can wash and freeze your kale and spinach too so everything is pretty much ready to throw into the blender in the morning.

It really only takes about 5 minutes to make this smoothie.  I add the hemp seeds for protein and sometimes I add 1-2 tsp of coconut oil for some good fat.  You can add an avocado for your good fat if you don’t like coconut oil.  Add at least 1 frozen fruit to make it nice and cold or you can add ice.

Try having one every morning (or afternoon, or for dessert as we often do) and soon you’ll be addicted to green smoothies and wonder how you ever lived without them!

Green Pineapple Smoothie

1-2 cups of water

1 frozen banana

1 1/2 cups of chopped pineapple

1 large handful of spinach or kale

1 – 2 TBLS hemp seeds (optional)

Raw agave nectar or raw honey (optional)

Blend all ingredients in your blender and enjoy!

You can always add berries to this smoothie and I ALWAYS double the quantity so there’s enough for everyone.
